She is the author of a vast work that includes novels, short stories and literature both for young readers and children. She has received the most prestigious literature awards, such as the Narrative Prize of Alcalá de Henares, the Alfonso de Cossío Short Story Prize, the Ateneo Joven from Seville, the Carmen Conde Poetry Prize and shortlisted for the Primavera Novel Prize. In the children and young reader's literature field, she won the most important Spanish awards: Barco de Vapor (2009), Alandar (2005), Gran Anular (2004), Edebé (2001) and Protagonista Jove (2001), this last one granted by the readers.

Among her books it is important to mention Aprender a huir (Seix Barral, 2002), Los que rugen (Páginas de Epuma, 2009), La muerte de Venus (Espasa, 2007), Bel. Amor más allá de la muerte (SM, 2009), El anillo de Irina (Edelvives, 2005), Se vende mamá (SM, 2009) or the bestseller Habitaciones cerradas (Planeta, 2012). So far, her work has been translated to German, Italian, Portuguese, French, Korean, Basque, Galician, Pole, Hebrew, Brazilian, Greek, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Catalan and Lithuanian.
